How to join
Mnemonica.
Someone invited you to a project. This guide tells you what to do next.
You need an invitation. Mnemonica is a closed community. Someone has to invite you, and you cannot register on your own. Check your inbox. If the invitation is not there, ask the person who is expecting you in the project.
Already have an account? This guide does not apply to you. Read the new sign-in guide instead.
Step by step
The animations below show a mobile phone. The same steps work on a desktop computer.
Open the invitation
Read and accept
Choose how you sign in
Choose Google, Apple, or email. With email there is nothing more to confirm, because the invitation link proved your address. Tap Create, and Mnemonica makes the account immediately.
If you choose Google or Apple, your Mnemonica account still uses the address of the invitation, even when your Google or Apple account has a different one. Mnemonica sends all its emails to the invitation address.

Protect your account
optional · required for Strong projectsEmail, Google and Apple get you in. This step adds a method that only you can use. We recommend it: it gives the best security and it is the easiest to use.
This step also matters for access. Some projects are Strong, and they show a lock icon. Their managers decided that an email link, Google or Apple is not enough to get in, even just to watch. If your invitation is for a Strong project, you need this step to open it, so do it now. In all other projects you can tap Later and work as your role allows.
On a computer. Mnemonica first asks if this is your personal computer.
Yes, only I use it. You create a passkey. A passkey replaces a password with the way you unlock your device: fingerprint, face or PIN. Your device or your password manager keeps it. If you keep passkeys in iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager, it appears on your other devices automatically.
No, others use it too. Nothing is saved on this computer. Scan a QR code with the Mnemonica app, or use a security key.
In the Mnemonica app. The app asks you to turn on device unlock: the way you unlock your phone, by fingerprint, face or PIN. After that, the app is your strong method and it keeps you signed in. A phone with no fingerprint, no face unlock and no PIN cannot do this step.
The method you choose works immediately.

Questions and answers
Can I register without an invitation?
No. Every Mnemonica account starts from an invitation to a project or a company. If you need one, ask the person who manages the project. They can send it in a few seconds.
The invitation did not arrive in my inbox.
Check the spam folder first. Make sure that the invitation went to the address you are reading. If it is still missing, ask the person who invited you to send it again. They can also correct the address.
The link says it has expired.
Invitation links are valid for seven days. Ask the person who invited you to send it again.
I received more than one invitation.
Open any one of them. One registration accepts all the invitations for your address, so you will find all those projects and companies when you get in.
The link says it was sent to a different address.
An invitation works only for the exact address it was sent to. If you have more than one address, open it from the correct mailbox, or ask for a new invitation to the address you prefer.
I opened the invitation again and it says I already have an account.
The invitation is for registration only, and it works once. If you have already registered, with this invitation or with another one for the same address, you do not need it any more. Sign in as usual. The new sign-in guide tells you how.
Must I use Google or Apple?
No. Email is enough. A passkey does not need Google or Apple: your laptop, your phone, a browser, a password manager or a security key can hold one. Google and Apple are a quick way to sign in if you already use them. They do not protect your account as Step 5 does. Only a passkey or the Mnemonica app gives you a strong session.
Why does Mnemonica ask if this is my personal computer?
A passkey saved on a computer opens your account to anyone who can unlock that computer. Answer “Yes” only if nobody else signs in to it with your account. If you answer “No”, nothing is saved there.
My computer has no fingerprint reader.
You can still create a passkey. It also works with the Windows Hello PIN, with your Mac password, or from a password manager.
I tapped Later. Is that a problem?
No. You have a basic session, which is enough for every project that is not marked Strong. When you open a Strong project, Mnemonica asks you to protect your account at that moment. You can also do it at any time from your Preferences / Security page. On the same page you can link your Apple and Google identities.
I created my account but the project does not open.
The project is marked Strong, and only a strong session can open it. Protect your account when Mnemonica offers it, with a passkey or with the Mnemonica app. Then the project opens.
Can I change my name or picture later?
Yes. Your display name and your picture are in your profile, and you can change them at any time. Your email address is your username. You change it from your preferences.
What if I registered before 17 October 2026?
Then you already have an account, and this guide does not apply to you. Signing in changes for everybody on that date. The new sign-in guide explains the change.
