MIA 2026: Mnemonica and Creative Europe MEDIA co-host "Innovation meets Distribution"
Yesterday morning, October 22nd, the Sala Trianon at the Westin Excelsior in Rome set the stage for a rare discussion on the evolution of film distribution across Europe. As part of MIA | Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo, Mnemonica and Creative Europe Desk Italy MEDIA co-organized the panel “Innovation Meets Distribution. How Technology Is Changing the Business of European Distributors”, in close collaboration with Creative Europe Desk France and the MIA Market.
Moderator Davide Dellacasa (CEO & Co-founder, Brad&k Productions) led an in-depth conversation bridging the gap between emerging digital solutions and the everyday needs of the film industry. The session explored how technology has evolved into a strategic business driver, empowering distributors to eliminate operational friction, make data-informed decisions, expand audience reach, and fully monetize audiovisual catalogs.
The discussion centered on three complementary technological models driving real value in today’s market. Piero Costantini, CEO and Founder of Mnemonica, highlighted how Mnemonica Archive provides a secure, specialized cloud environment designed to optimize content preservation, management, and smooth asset circulation without unnecessary intermediaries in the value chain. His contribution was followed by the presentations of Leslie Vuchot, CEO and Founder of Timeless Cinema, and Lionel Baurier, Head of Development at Vertigo Research.
Offering the frontline perspective of an active buyer and distributor, Jakub Duszynski, Head of Acquisitions at Gutek Film, shared essential insights on integrating these technological advancements into day-to-day acquisition and release workflows.
A packed hall and lively participation throughout the discussion demonstrated a clear convergence of aims between distributors and producers, and, more generally, the need for such open and practical dialogues to build a more competitive and interconnected European audiovisual landscape.
Mnemonica warmly thanks Maria Cristina Lacagnina of the Italian Creative Europe MEDIA Desk, Chiara Zappalà of the French MEDIA Desk, Gaia Tridente and Francesca Palleschi of MIA, Davide Dellacasa, our fellow speakers, and all the industry professionals who joined the conversation.
